If you or someone close to you is going through a rehabilitation process after a neurological injury, know that you’re not alone.
Our commitment is to offer knowledge, tools, and support so that each movement gained is celebrated as a real step toward independence and quality of life.
Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps individuals regain the use of the arm, hand, or leg after a neurological injury.
The focus is on intensive use of the affected limb through daily life activities, guided and supported by a therapist.
Stimulates the use of the affected side, reducing compensation by the healthy side.
Improves strength, coordination, and movement control.
Promotes behavioral changes that ensure the affected limb is used more frequently in daily activities.
Can be performed at home or in a clinic with professional support.
During CIMT, you’ll be encouraged to perform functional tasks using the affected limb.
In some cases, the other limb (unaffected) may be placed in a soft, safe constraint — such as a glove — as a reminder to encourage use of the weaker side.
Everything is done with care, professional guidance, and respect for your limits.
The Constraint-Induced team develops apps and interactive videos to help you follow your home training plan with motivation and remote support.
The therapist can monitor your progress and adjust exercises as needed.
